Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day, is an American holiday celebrated on June 19th. On June 19, 1865, the Emancipation Proclamation— which had been issued on January 1, 1863—was read to enslaved African Americans in Texas by Gordon Granger.
The annual Khnemu Foundation Juneteenth Celebration will take place on Saturday, June 15, 2024.
Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals and celebrate Juneteenth with the community. Your generous donation is appreciated.
